Don’t want to face the treadmill later tonight, so I took a very quick run midday. My right hip is just the slightest bit achy, I needed to hit the pavement not the tready. I planned on getting out during the warmest part of the day. Temperature soared to 26 degrees by 1:00. I had a snack of instant oatmeal (my favorite pre-run food) before heading out.
I had a lot of clothes on and I am glad for it. 2 pairs of tights, 4 layers on top and two pairs of socks. A little overkill I know, but I HATE to be cold. The run was not easy, good news I was sub 8 minute pace. I left my heart rate monitor off on purpose, this was the same route and pace I did a few weeks ago that resulted in a 200 HR. Ignorance is bliss!
Got back to work in the afternoon preparing for tomorrows appointments and last months expense report.

Was not expecting to run today. When I got to the gym to swim the treadmill looked like the better idea. warmed up 1 mile ran 2 miles comfortable then addded in some extra halfs at 7:30 for a total of 5 miles. 50 miles to 1000!

It was cold and windy for our last outdoor soccer game. We did not play well as a team, but there was a lot f running and fun. This will count as my 4th day in a row of working out, that’s a good thing. I will either swim and lift for day 5 or take it off and rest and get some work completed that was ignored for the Thanksgiving holiday.
I must get 55 miles in December to get 1000 miles for 2009, easy right??

Had to make a choice between my blackberry and my running shoes. Since today is sure to be a long hard day either way, I chose my running shoes and a vigorous short run. Of course there were plenty of missed calls, emails and text messages in that 30 minutes, but I have a little better attitude about them now.
Didn’t expect that I had pushed my heart rate above 200? Yes I was working hard, but I wasn’t completely suffering out there. It felt fast and it was nice to run with some intent behind each step.
