MRI

August 1st, 2008 , 3:11 pm by Michelle Halsne

Had my MRI for the right knee injury.  I tend to be claustrophobic so I was a little worried.  It turns out that the MRI capsule with its loud noises along with the need to stay perfectly still was extremely relaxing.  I don’t normally stay quiet and still in my day (not even while sleeping).  I think it was the nicest experience of my week.

I will not have the report to my sports medicine doctor until next week, but the unofficial results based on a quick look is meniscus tear and more concerning a severe bone bruise.  From what, I am not sure.  The bottom line for me right no is no activity.  The worst part is the terrible calf cramps I am getting as my muscles begin to atrophy, not fun.

Will try to occupy myself this weekend with my other favorite activity besides running…working.

MRIs are very interesting… sorry to hear about your injury, especially since you are not sure how it happened! I hate that kind of injury. Knowing you, inactivity is probably the worst part :-) Keep us informed… thanks, mitch

    Hi Michelle,
Thanks for keeping us updated with your status. I was concerned about you since your last post.
I am soooo sorry to hear about your injury. :( Pain and discomfort aside, I can only imagine the hardest part about this is the “no activity”. Please take good care of yourself and rest up for your next challenge. :)

I knew your were a virgo, I will be celebrate my 41st in 28 days! :)
I truly enjoyed my 30s because I was so much better as a person than I was in my 20s.
I am looking forward to the rest of my 40s and I know you will too.

I was really hoping it wasn’t a tear. I still hope that the MRI will show something much less worse than that. Hang in there and keep us posted!
