Mukilteo Running Group

July 2nd, 2008 , 6:00 am by Michelle Halsne

Met up with 3 guys from the unofficial Mukilteo Running group.  Here’s the set up, on the morning that I was to leave for Western States someone put a poster on the stop sign at the end my street saying “Michelle 100 miles of best wishes” it was signed the Muk Gang.  I had never met one person from this group, they did not know me, yet they went out of their way to make a poster find my house and wish me luck on my race.  They had no idea the race had been cancelled.  I was so touched I stood at the stop sign and cried.  The poster will hang on my bathroom mirror for the next 360 days until the next Western States.

So I found out who the Muk Gang was and went out for a run with them this morning.  This is a group of Ultra athletes, 18 in the training gaggle are signed up for next years Coeur d Alene Iron Man.  They took it easy today as 2 of the 3 will do Lake Stevens half Iron man this weekend.  Nice people and I hope to join them again!

Sorry I missed the weekly St. Andrews run. I’m one of the Whidbey guys linked up with the Muk hardcores. Good to hear you joined in and hope to see you out there for the rest of the summer. Too bad about WS but you made it right with your boot camp weekend. Very nice.

And since I missed the St. Andrews festivities today, I’m probably going to do the loop tomorrow morning same time same place. Not sure where your recovery stands - let me know if you’re interested.
