Playing Games at Practice

September 10th, 2007 , 8:18 am by Michelle Halsne

So far my middle school cross country team has really impressed me.  They for the most part are in great shape for 13-14 years old.

For our Fridays workouts I have decided, based on good advice, to make it a play day.  The kids taught me three new running games.  “Sharks and Minnows” “Capture the Flag” and “Blog”.  They ran as hard playing these games as they would have doing a ladder workout.

I like the one called Blog. How do you play it? We might want to start using it around the office…

I coach at a local college in PA. Bucknell.

I already have 2 little girls and a boy on the way… any day now (hopefully soon).

I tried to get a jr. program started at my high school before I left but the administration was never supportive of it. Which was probably good, because I would have been coaching the varsity and jr. high and that would have been too much.
