50 Miler race recovery

July 30th, 2007 , 7:14 am by Michelle Halsne

Finally took a hot bath last night after cold water soaks every few post race.  Added Epsom salt one of my favorite muscle recovery treatments.   Soaked the toenails and looked for blisters, to my surprise no blister at all a few sore spots, but seems like I missed a huge bullet on that one.  Looks like my only blood shed is were my Ipod shuffle was clipped for the second 25 miles and on my back were my sports bra rubbed me raw.

Overall I will definitely race this distance again, and maybe go for sub 10 hour performance.  I have to travel for work tomorrow, sitting on plane and sleeping in a hotel should be interesting.

WOW! I am so jealous, yet happy for you for running a 50 mile race! I hope to get to that level some day! How awesome… but I’m sure it’s not completed without some pain!

    CONGRATS!
